If you live in the UK, you can't chat in Minecraft anymore. Here's how to fix it.
Vanilla launcher
If you're using the vanilla launcher, the process is pretty simple:
- Head to https://fabricmc.net/use/installer/ and click 'Download installer'. You can click 'Download for Windows' if you're on windows.
- Run the installer. You'll see this:

- Pick your desired Minecraft version, leave everything else as shown above.
- Click 'Install'!
- Once it's done, navigate to your
.minecraftfolder. The installer will show the path as "Launcher Location", or navigate to%appdata%/.minecraft. - Head to https://modrinth.com/mod/no-chat-restrictions and click the big green "Download" button in the top right.
- Pick the same Minecraft version as you did earlier, and choose "Fabric" as the loader.
- Click "Download with deps" - this will download two jar files, for No Chat Restrictions and Fabric API.
Put these mods in the
.minecraft/modsfolder (you'll have to create this folder). - Open the Minecraft launcher. From the version dropdown, pick the newly created Fabric profile:

- You're done! Launch the game and you should have access to chat again.
